The Hilarity of Chinese Traffic
Everyone has heard stories of week long traffic jams in China. While there are very few places outside of China where that kind of thing can happen, those were created by insane circumstances.
Everyone has heard stories of week long traffic jams in China. While there are very few places outside of China where that kind of thing can happen, those were created by insane circumstances. They certainly aren't common occurrences. That said, traffic is a constant problem. It mostly effects people driving cars but in certain situations it'll get crazy enough to stop e-bikes and pedestrians.
On the highways, it's just slow movement from congestion. On main city roads though, it's really just a free-for-all. There's not much in the way of signage or signals and the main rule seems to be: Don't crash into anyone. With rule #2: Don't get crashed into. Honestly, I love it. It's completely ridiculous and chaotic, but everyone is extremely careful. I have seen far fewer accidents here when compared to the US.
I decided to put together a video showcasing how traffic works here, so check it out below!
